These terms cover buying and using the digital guides sold on this site. Placing an order means you have read them and agree to them. The short version: you get a personal copy of a PDF, you can have your money back within 14 days, and nothing here promises to fix anything.
Who you are buying from
Own Your Half publishes the guides and runs this site. How the sale itself is made depends on how you pay.
Orders paid in euro, US dollars, pounds sterling or any other non-hryvnia currency are processed by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for those orders: it is the party that sells to you, takes the payment, issues the receipt, charges and remits any VAT or sales tax, and handles refunds and payment questions. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms (www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms) apply to that transaction alongside these.
Orders paid in hryvnia are sold by Own Your Half directly, with LiqPay (a PrivatBank service) processing the card payment. The contract of sale is between you and Own Your Half.
Either way, the guides, the download links, the licence and everything on this page come from Own Your Half, and the contact page reaches us, not a provider.
What you are buying
Each product is one or more PDF files, delivered by download after payment. There is no physical item, no course, no login and no account to keep.
Page counts, contents and which files are included are described on the product pages and repeated on the checkout page before you pay. A purchase covers one edition — English or Ukrainian — chosen at checkout.
The guides are educational material for self-reflection. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, not therapy, and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Where a subject needs a professional rather than a book, the book says so.
Nothing on this site promises a particular outcome. Half of any relationship is another adult making their own choices, and no book can change that.
Who can buy
You must be at least 18. The guides are written for adults, about adult relationships.
You need a working email address: it is the only way the files reach you, and the address you give at checkout is where every email about the order goes. An address that bounces cannot be delivered to, and that is not a refund matter.
Price and payment
Prices are shown in the currency of the region you have selected — euro, US dollars, hryvnia or pounds — and are set per region, not converted from one another. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Where VAT or sales tax applies, it is calculated and shown on the payment page before you confirm.
Payment is taken entirely on the payment provider's own page — Paddle, PayPal or LiqPay, depending on your region. We never see, handle or store your card details. The provider's own terms and privacy notice apply to that step.
An order is confirmed only once the provider tells us the payment succeeded. Until then it shows as awaiting payment and no files are released. A declined or cancelled payment charges nothing; you can simply try again.
If a price changes after you buy, that entitles nobody to anything: not you to a partial refund, not us to a further charge. You paid the price published on the day.
Delivery
Once the payment is confirmed, the files are available immediately on the confirmation page, and an email with the same download links follows within minutes. That email is the copy to keep.
The links in the email open your order page and generate a fresh download each time, so they keep working however long it has been. The direct file links themselves expire after a short time for security; if one stops working, go back through the order page or the email.
If a file will not download or open, write to us and we will fix the delivery. That is ours to solve, not yours, and it is not a refund matter — you keep the product.
Your licence
When you buy a guide you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to read it and print it for your own use, on any device you own, for as long as you like.
You may not resell, share, lend, upload, publish or otherwise redistribute the files, in whole or in part, in any form — including by forwarding the download links or your order email to someone else. Doing so is copyright infringement. This is a small independent series, and that restriction is what keeps it viable.
You may quote short passages with attribution, as you would from any book. You may not use the guides or their exercises as the basis of a paid course, workshop or product of your own.
The guides — text, worksheets, diagrams and covers — are the copyright of Own Your Half. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to you.
Refunds and your right to withdraw
If a guide is not what you expected, write to us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you. You do not need to give a reason. The full policy — how long it takes and where the money goes back to — is on the refunds page.
If you are in the EU or the UK, consumer law gives you a 14-day right to withdraw from most distance purchases. For digital content delivered immediately, that statutory right ends once the download begins and you have acknowledged this at checkout. Our own 14-day refund policy applies regardless, because we would rather you were not stuck with something you cannot use.
For orders processed by Paddle, the refund is issued by Paddle as the Merchant of Record; you can also ask Paddle directly. For hryvnia orders, we issue it through LiqPay.
If something goes wrong
We do our best to keep the site and the download links working, but we do not promise they will be available at every moment. If something is broken, tell us and we will fix it.
Our liability for any claim connected to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision you take on the basis of what the guides say — they are books, and what you do with them is yours.
Nothing in these terms limits any right that the consumer law of your country gives you and that cannot be limited by agreement.
Governing law and disputes
For orders processed by Paddle, the law and dispute terms in Paddle's Buyer Terms govern the sale. For hryvnia orders sold by us directly, the laws of Ukraine apply, including the Law of Ukraine On Protection of Consumer Rights.
In every case, write to us first. Almost everything can be sorted out by email within a working day, and we would rather do that than argue.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on the day you buy is the one that applies to your purchase; the date at the top of this page says when it last changed.
